National Shorthand School was established on 22 August 1980 as a coaching center for Shorthand and Typewriting aspirants. NSS is proud that many Typists and Stenographers trained in the institution have been serving public and private organizations in various cadres from Typists to Chief Managers.
National Shorthand School ventured into preparing and publishing Books useful for the students and teachers of Twin Arts in 1986 and released its first publication PRACTICAL SHORTHAND for PITMANITES (Code: SL-1) on 1st September 1986. This book is still A BEST SELLER having good demand among the shorthand examination going students as well as examinees of competitive tests. NSS have so far published more than 20 titles for various grades of Shorthand i.e. from pre-junior (60 wpm) to high-speed (200 wpm) and relevant audio cassettes/CDs.
Also, NSS have published over 30 titles for Typewriting students of various grades which include SIMPLE TYPEWRITING (A Self Instructor) (Code: ST-1) and SIMPLE TYPEWRITING (Computer/Typewriter Key Board Practice) (Code: ST-3), the Best Sellers of their category.
Now, due to non-availability of shorthand publications and other articles in the local market, NSS is striving to make available the Typewriting and Shorthand books of good standard published by other publishers also, to the needy Twin Arts fraternity.
